 CAN I REGISTER ON THE DAY?

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I REGISTER?

When you have registered on the website you will receive an email confirming your successful registration

CAN I TRANSFER/CANCEL MY EVENT ENTRY?

No, all entries are non-refundable and non-transferable.

IS THE EVENT CHIP TIMED?

No, this is not a timed event, nor is it a race. All participants are recommended to have an appropriate level of fitness for the event.

WILL THE ROUTE BE MARKED / SIGNPOSTED AND MARSHALED?

Yes

WILL THERE BE CLOSED ROADS AS PART OF THE EVENT?

Roads will not be closed as part of the event. As such, the normal rules of the road apply and all participants must assume personal responsibility for their own conduct on the roads. 

WHAT EQUIPMENT DO I NEED?

Participants must supply their own bike and helmet, which needs to be fully road worthy and in good working order. We strongly recommend you bring the necessary equipment to fix mechanicals at the roadside (spare tubes, pump) to be self-sufficient and not to rely on mechanical support which may take some time to get to you on the day.

Are E-bikes permitted?

Yes.

Are Time-Trial bikes/Tri-Bars permitted?

No, for safety reasons Tri-bars or Time Trial bikes are not suitable for this sportive.

ARE HELMETS COMPULSORY?

Yes

IS MEDICAL ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE?

Yes, we will have an ambulance on both routes.

WHAT IF I GET A PUNCTURE, DO I NEED TO BRING MY OWN SPARE TUBES/PUNCTURE REPAIR KIT?

Yes, you will need to bring your own spare tyre tubes and be able to fix your own punctures. Services crews will be on hand around the route however to assist, however these may take some time to get to you on the day and being self-sufficient in dealing with typical mechanicals like punctures will ensure an enjoyable day out.

WILL THERE BE MECHANICAL ASSISTANCE ON THE DAY?

Yes, there will be mechanical assistance on both routes.

WHAT DO I DO IF I ENCOUNTER A MEDICAL EMERGENCY?

Contact Event Control. You will be given a contact number when you sign in on the morning of the event.

DO I NEED TO BRING FOOD AND WATER WITH ME?

Yes! You should bring plenty of water. It is advisable to bring some bars and eat little and often. There will also be both water and food stops on both routes.

WILL THERE BE FOOD AT THE END?

Yes. Hot food will be available in Maynooth GAA Clubhouse after completion of your route.

WHERE CAN I PARK?

Parking is available in the former Maynooth Education  Campus: https://tinyurl.com/36tyvrrw.  For safety reasons, parking will not be available at Maynooth GAA Club.

START TIME?

The 100KM cyclists will depart at 9:30am

The 60km cyclists will also depart at 9.30am

Tandem cyclists will depart with their chosen route/distance group.

Please make sure you are at the start line on time.
